Geekbot Focus Mode

Overview

Focus Mode by Geekbot is a Pomodoro-inspired tool designed specifically for Slack. If Slack is your biggest source of distraction, this tool works as a Pomodoro timer that tells your coworkers what you're busy with. It sets a customized away status, stops notifications from interrupting you, replies to DMs notifying people that you are in Focus Mode, and then notifies your Slack contacts when Focus Mode is over.

How It Works

1. Activate Focus Mode from Slack
2. Set duration (default aligns with Pomodoro intervals)
3. Geekbot updates your Slack status to show you're focused
4. Incoming DMs receive an automatic reply with your focus status
5. Notifications are suppressed during the session
6. When the timer ends, your contacts are notified that you're available again
